BROOKFIELD, Wis. – Milwaukee County resident Williebell Harris will celebrate her 100th birthday on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024.
Williebell is a member of the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) operated by Community Care, Inc.
Her birthday celebration will take place at the Community Care, Inc. Vliet Day Center, located at 3220 W. Vliet St., Milwaukee, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25.
Williebell was born in North Carolina and moved to Milwaukee with her family at age 17.
She has been a member of Community Care’s PACE program for more than 20 years. The PACE model of care is centered on the belief that it is better for the well-being of seniors with chronic care needs, as well as their families, to be served in the community whenever possible. Community Care is the sole provider of the PACE program in Wisconsin.
In recent years, Williebell survived two bouts with COVID-19.
Her birthday celebration will include cake and flowers to be shared with friends and family, including her granddaughter, Shirley Leatherwood-Garrett.
Media outlets are invited to attend the celebration and ask Williebell to reflect on her life’s long journey.
