As you must know if you’ve read my last article you would know that I have these two kittens who come by my house everyday. This week the cats finally went inside of the house.
In the beginning it was only the black and white halfway inside the house and now, it just walks around, looks and observes the whole kitchen. At first it was only the black and white cat inside the house and now it’s both of the cats.
Being with these cats shows me how long my mom and I have come through this journey with taking care of these cats. At first I expected things to happen fast but everything is a process.
For example when people are in romantic relationships some people want things to happen instantly instead of taking things slow. It’s good to take things slow when developing a relationship with someone because you get to know one another better.
Even when getting to be friends with someone it is important to take things slow and to build trust with one another. Whenever I see people trying to get close friends with me and we’ve only known each other for a week, I would feel distrustful because we have only known each other for a week.
I had a similar situation where I tried to pet one of the cats and later realized they just aren’t on that comfort level. Since they were born in the wild I realized that they have never been socialized with people to know that we don’t mean harm when we touch them. They know that we are there to protect them from any other animals.
Whenever me and my mom looked outside the door we isee this adult cat who came by and noticed the kittens didn’t feel comfortable around the cat so I glared at him and he scurried away and by doing that it made the cats feel safer. We sometimes have to worry about other cats coming by, the neighbors dogs, and them running to the street towards cars.
Even though they feel really anxious to come inside they know this is home. The mama cat who doesn’t come by as much knows she can always come by when she wants to. She doesn’t come by as much now that she knows her babies are taken care of and knows they are happy and feel at home. Well, I hope you enjoyed me sharing my experience with these cats. Remember, to stay safe and most of all stay positive.
