Celebrate small business owners, local-seasoned crafters and freelance designers
that make up the Milwaukee community
Shop Milwaukee’s official “Shop Small Saturday” on Nov. 26 with the Milwaukee Makers Market at Discovery World. The upcoming celebration acknowledges local Milwaukee creatives and their accomplishments as a small business.
The Makers Market accepted more than 50+ applications from Milwaukee creators for Saturday’s event. Makers include Bunny’s Bites, Covered Bridge Crafts, Beyer Beware, Square One Soap Works, Orange Pops, My Sistuh’s Trunk, Abbey Bell Does, Nourish Natural Products and more. Attendance levels have only grown at the Market since beginning operation in a Colectivo parking lot and now average approximately 1,000 visitors per Market.
“Small business owners are the foundation of the Milwaukee Makers Market,” Milwaukee Makers Market Creator Ryan Laessig said. “We wouldn’t be here without our Makers, artisans, freelance designers and local seasoned crafters. It’s really the support and dedication from the Milwaukee community that breathes air into our Market, and I’m excited to celebrate with them on Saturday.”
The Milwaukee Makers Market recently received a nomination for the Shepherd Express “Best of Milwaukee 2022” Award. This would be their third consecutive nomination, with the Market winning both 2020 and 2021’s award.
“We’ve accomplished a lot as a community,” Laessig said. “I’m continuously amazed.”
Shop Saturday’s event between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. with free admission to the Market. Lunch will be available upon purchase from Heirloom MKE: Food Truck, with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.
