It’s not too late to register! Summer is here and for parents looking for activities for their children, look no further! The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, will be having their first offering of jazz camps. Split into two camps, one for grades 6-12 , there is also one for adults!
The youth camp will be structured as follows: The in-person students will perform in a jazz combinations , and then work on group collaboration. Students will also learn bandstand communication and arranging. For parents who are not quite comfortable with in person classes, there is a virtual option. During that time students will enjoy an extensive group jazz piano class, and virtual classes in a variety of things. Getting full focus on improvisation, music production, technique, rhythm & history.
For the adult camp there will be focuses on combo performance and improvisation, including two 2-hour rehearsal and improvisation sessions on Wednesday and Thursday night and culminating in a small group performance during the jazz camp final concert on Friday.
The date for the camp will be on July 21-22 from 6-8 pm and the final performance will be July 23 from 3-5 pm. For ways to register and more information, visit the companies social media pages or apply in person!
