Alderwoman Nikiya Dodd will host a Fall Town Hall Meeting next week for 5th District residents to discuss the current civil unrest occurring in Milwaukee, across the state, and around the country, and the future systemic changes that can bring us together. The meeting will take place on Thursday, September 24th from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Nash Park.
“The current climate has us more divided than ever, and the media helps incite this deepened polarization. It is easy to continue this cycle as the divisiveness is amplified and forget what we all have in common,” said Alderwoman Dodd. “Therefore, I am calling on residents of the 5th District, The People’s Revolution, and community members to share their concerns about what is happening in our city so everyone gets access to public safety with ensured accountability. I also see this meeting as an opportunity to hear from the people as my colleagues and I prepare to deliberate on the Mayor’s 2021 budget and community priorities that will be released to the public next week Tuesday.”
Seating will not be provided, so residents are encouraged to bring a chair. The setup will allow for proper social distancing. Masks will be required.
