Black men continue to be targeted by racial acts of violence, living in a world where you are told to stay strong, while fearing for your life. This task alone causes mental instability, but where can we express it without being seen as weak? In the wake of the virus which is also killing African Americans at an alarming rate, the mental effects from it alone proves to be very taxing. We need an outlets, and mental health checks ins to discuss, the Milwaukee Urban League is providing that.
On May 21st this conversation will take place via Zoom, and will include State Rep David Bowen, Judge Derek Mosley, and Dr Ramel Smith.
“This conversation with black men and for black men will offer ideas for best mental health and self-care tools for navigating this time and beyond. “ A description given by a representative from the event.
The discussion will focus primarily on the problems that have been created, due to the lack of consistent dialogue.
