Breonna Taylor’s Family recently received a $12 Million Settlement From City of Louisville
Since the police raid in Breonna Taylor’s home, the city has agreed to institute changes aimed at preventing future deaths by officers. After months and months of protests, Breonna Taylor’s name into a national slogan against police violence. Her name has become a known state to state, city to city, country to country, after the murder of the 27 year young lady.
3 Louisville Officers performed a drug bust on a “no knock” warrant in hopes to capture Breonna’s ex boyfriend. But when they got in something went wrong. Her current mate fired shots, not knowing who was breaking in the house and struck a cop in the leg. In return the police officer fired shots and struck Breonna Taylor 8 times by Sergeant Jonathan Mattingly.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. After the horrific event no drugs or intended target was recovered. On top of that, NO OFFICERS WERE ARRESTED.
As the months with by about Breonna Taylor’s death, no justice has been served. Although Louisville has passed the ban of “no knock” warrants, justice has not been served.
$12 million is a great start as a grieving package but the fact that no one has been arrested is the bigger issue here. Her family and friends are not happy or resting until the officers that did this horrendous work are arrested.
Arrest the police not because it’s right but because it will prove that her life mattered and so do others. It’s not okay to kill and be free even if you are the police.
Arrest the police.
