Wednesday Night’s Forum will be the Third Installment of “Chats with the Chairwoman”
MILWAUKEE – For the latest installment of her “Chats with the Chairwoman” series, County Board Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson will lead a virtual conversation Wednesday evening, June 16, celebrating the resilience and joy of Black activism during the week of Juneteenth Day.
Nicholson will be joined by Nurturing Diversity Partners Co-founder Reggie Jackson, Action Center on Race and the Economy Deputy Campaign Director Tracey Corder, Community Mural Artist Tia Richardson, and The Peoples Revolution Community Organizer Mariah Smith.
Positive and uplifting stories of activist resilience and joy are often overlooked in a media ecosphere that foregrounds strife and conflict. This panel discussion will bring together a diverse group of activists to celebrate their work to create positive change, share stories of their victories, and discuss the many ways people can engage in activism in their community.
Wednesday’s “Chat with the Chairwoman,” will be streamed on Facebook Live to allow for community members to ask questions and participate in the conversation.
