When the sun shines at 5am, I know it is Summer. When the leaves began to fall from the tree, I knew it was Fall. So, on December 1st, I knew it was time to make my family famous, Christmas Mix. I started this tradition about 5 years ago and my family and I look forward to making it every year. It is super easy to make, and it tastes delicious.
Burning pumpkin scented candles in the home can give any room a warm feeling and a delicious smell but baking a pumpkin pie will be a lot more fulfilling, no pun intended, lol. Likewise, you can go to the local grocer and buy a few holiday treats, however making a recipe from scratch is so much better and you create wonderful memories.
I started making Christmas treats as a child with my mom and we had so much fun. We would spend about 2 weeks making about 12 varieties of cookies and desserts and fill decorated tins with them to give as gifts and this is a tradition I still follow today.
This recipe is quick, delicious and inexpensive to make, and you can also switch it up to add your favorite candies, nuts and even spices. This recipe makes a ton of mix, but I promise you there won’t be any leftovers!
