On Saturday September 27th, Community Huddle will be celebrating its 5 year anniversary. Founded by Minister Byron Marshall, Jr who served as a Deputy Field Organizer for Obama-for-America Wisconsin presidential campaign in 2012. “ What inspired me to start Community Huddle, was a passion to serve my community, and the gridlock in politics.” Said by Marshall who went on to say “at the time, President Obama was met with heavy opposition from Congress, I felt politics in our country was polarizing and the gridlock was on the state level here in Wisconsin as well.” During the anniversary celebration, they will be receiving a Mayoral proclamation for the years of service, establishing September 27th as Community Huddle Day. Providing a variety of programs such as non-partisan voter registration , youth programs and various giveaways to help parents with school cost. The celebration will take place at their new headquarters, serving a dual purpose that will see two of its founding members recognized for their efforts as well.
