Anna Dannecker is a Dr. Terence Thomas Memorial Scholarship alum who graduated from Emerson College in 2021 with a degree in comedic arts. In her scholarship application, Anna stated “Comedy is the craft I want to work on for the rest of my life. It is what comes most naturally to me” She also knew that her career pursuits would need a strong foundation of knowledge, analytical thinking skills, and performance training. She got all of that and more as she was a scholarship recipient for four years, starting in 2017. That is an $8,000 total investment from the Dr. Terence Thomas Scholarship in Anna’s educational pursuits.
Anna currently resides and works in Los Angeles, CA. She is part of the Universal Animation Writers Program which is a yearlong experience in which she is growing her portfolio and connections and taking part in unique opportunities through DreamWorks, Illumination, and Universal Studios.
Previously, she was a production assistant at Wild Canary Animation, working on Disney Junior’s Ariel (which premiered in June!). Before working in animation, she held multiple roles in podcasting and was an assistant coordinator for the NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers) Media Summit 2022.
Anna states, “I am so grateful to have been a scholarship recipient throughout my time in college. It helped me to stay at Emerson College where I had a lot of formative experiences that continue to positively impact my success today.”
