Happy Monday! Yep, it’s right back at you like last week! It’s the top of the week and there’s lots to accomplish. Sometimes Mondays remind you of all the things that need to get done. But you know what that’s okay.
You May look around or you may take a look at your own plate and find discouragement, but that’s not where your going to stay this week. This week, you’re going to win!
This week, you’re going to find your way to positivity. You’re going to keep a healthy mindset. You’re going to do what it takes to stay optimistic. We all have been in a place where it seems we can’t get a break.
We’ve been in places where it feels like things can’t get any worse and then boom! It does; the car goes down, you got a letter from your job about some new changes they’re making, a loved one is sick, you’re struggling with classes, you just got out of a bad relationship.
These things happen and sometimes all at once. But this week, you’re going to fight and you’re going to fight the right way.
First, take the time to be still.
Be still. No, seriously be still. Stay home for a day and relax. Get your mind off your problems. Take a break from the chaos and choose to breathe. Clear your mind.
Do something you love.
Find your happy place, whether that’s reading, watching a movie, turning on dancing music, or praying. Do something you love to first remind you that you’re dope and you deserve to feel good.
Come back to the drawing board.
Okay, granted it seems like planning is something of the norm, when you’re feeling overwhelmed, planning is essential. But before you plan, you must ask yourself what’s in your control and what’s not. You can only worry about what you have the power to change.
Make a list.
List everything that’s bothering you. List all the tasks you need to get done. Then prioritize them. Make a realistic schedule that you believe will work for you.
Ask for help.
If you find yourself in a tough space and you’re having trouble focusing, call up a friend. Have them come over. You can have some chit chat and catch up on things and discuss your issues. Friends are there for a reason.
Never box yourself in.
Listen as easy as it is to distance yourself when you’re going through, don’t make it a habit. Isolation oftentimes can do more damage than help. You can’t just sit there and dwell in your problems. You weren’t created to beat yourself up all day.
Deposit something positive into your mind.
The mind is a dangerous place when it’s not being taken care of. Be gentle with yourself. When you’re not having positive thoughts. Deposit some positive things in there. Read some stress free articles. Research something new. Listen to a motivational speaker. Go to church. Read your bible. Whatever you do listen to something that’s going to keep you going.
You got this!
