Happy 4th Monday of the year! I hope you’re kicking your new year off the right way. I hope you’re noticing some change within yourself. I hope you can see a difference in your perspective.
Sometimes it takes time to see a true change but you have to make change a priority and then make changes. If you want some different results, you have to try something different. Change doesn’t always happen over night, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen daily.
I can remember going through traumatic experiences that inspired change right away. Life is kind of like babies learning how to walk, we try things and if we fail, as long as we have enough strength, we’re going to get up and try it again. But sometimes it’s more like a baby learning that fire is hot. A baby who sticks their hand in fire will quick pull away and immediately tell themselves to never do that again. They may even begin to run when they see fire because they know they can get hurt, if they get too close.
As we miniver through life, we learn in different ways and we grow constantly, as long as we have the mindset to do so. Growing on purpose should always be the goal. Learning new things and getting better becomes a lifestyle, IF you want it.
Now, maybe you’re a person who isn’t satisfied with their growth. Maybe you feel a little behind. Maybe you know you need change. Well guess what? Congratulations because things get better from here. So many people do the same thing for years and never realize they’re not growing or developing. They become comfortable with their lifestyle.
That mindset is a hindrance. Growing is something we all can do if we put our mind to it. If you don’t want to find yourself in the same scenario that you’re use to, it’s time to switch it up.
Try this:
Set goals for yourself.
Work for it! Whatever IT is. Do it and do it well. Set your goal and rock it out!
Surround yourself with people who want to see you do well.
The atmosphere is everything. It’s going to be hard to grow without changing the atmosphere. Get and stay around people that want to grow and put in the work. Iron sharpens iron and it’s hard to grow alone.
Evaluate what isn’t working and eliminate those habits.
Hold yourself accountable and be honest with yourself. Identify what’s working in your favor and what’s not. Be conscious of what you do when you’re not thinking. Even be willing to except criticism from others.
Learn a new activity or skill.
Whether you get in school, training, or you use YouTube Academy, learn new things. Read books. What documentaries or videos. Gain wisdom through a mentor. Do whatever it takes to learn.
Eat healthily and hydrate daily.
You’ll be surprised how good you feel when you take care of you. Your body can truly make or break your progress. You have to be able to DO. So eat good as much as you can and drink lots of water. It’s so good for your mind.
Hey, remember, You Got This! Now let’s Grow!
