Statement of Alderwoman Chantia Lewis
March 23, 2022
Yesterday (Tuesday, March 22) the full Common Council approved legislation that paves the way for construction to begin on a new 20,000 square foot Planet Fitness location at 7401 W. Good Hope Rd., adjacent to Pick N’ Save (formerly the Garden Center portion of the former Home Depot). The new Planet Fitness is expected to open during summer 2022.
The spacious new athletics and fitness facility is a perfect addition to the New9th as community members of all ages look to maintain their fitness and wellbeing through exercise. The location will have a variety of machines and stations for cardio workouts, as well as multiple options for strength and weight training. A larger open area will be available for those looking to stretch, do Yoga, or to work on their abdominal muscles.
There will be ample parking for Planet Fitness members in the parking lot that can also be used by Pick N’ Save customers.
The New9th is continuing to see additional development and business momentum, including a new vegan restaurant, the much anticipated Granville Connection (at the former Jo-Ann Fabrics location at 8633 W. Brown Deer Rd.) and the many other local restaurants and businesses that will now be calling the New 9th home.
I am looking to continue helping business owners and entrepreneurs get businesses up and running in the New9th! Please contact my office at 414-286-2868 if you need my assistance.
