The Vine ministries located in Racine Wisconsin, celebrated its 10 year anniversary in style and grace on Saturday. In a beautiful outdoors event it was a time of fellowship, fun, and good food. The event which served a dual purpose, was also the ministries presiding Bishop James Ford’s 49th Birthday celebration. Praise was definitely on 10 as the name suggest, enlisting some heavy hitters in the Christian music game from Milwaukee, in Lyons a singing group, and D’Aych and the Next Level Band. Daniel Harris (D’Aych) has seen his band, and himself get national attention on many platforms. The band is packed with with talent of other known musicians, like Bruce Furlow owner of Joyful Noise Music Group. Keeping it in the Midwest they also enlisted the talents of Demarcus Castle, known as Gemstones in the music industry. Castle is a powerhouse in his own right, having gain national attention working with many popular artist. I talked to Bishop Ford who said “we are all about Tradition versus relationship, so we want to get outside the box and give young people things they can apply to their life right now.” Ford says that is also the inspiration for the way his ministry operates. He accredits some of his success to the support of his mentor, Bishop Eric Lloyd leader of Rhema Ministries in Michigan, who called Ford “Gods Man.” Indeed the atmosphere was calm and soothing, despite the event being moved from one park to another last minute by the city, it turned out greater than imagined. I look forward to future events similar to these from The Vine in the future.
