Alderman Robert J. Bauman, chair of the Public Works Committee, said Wednesday’s Public Works Committee meeting agenda includes a communication file (File #230015) that seeks answers from Mayor’s Office and the Department of Public Works staff regarding “delays in addressing the epidemic of potholes across the city including persistent and severe potholes on W. National Ave. from S. 9th St. to the city limits.”
The file – sponsored by Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa and co-sponsored by Alderman José G. Pérez and Alderman Bauman – will be on an agenda packed with items of citywide interest and importance. Media coverage is invited.
“Residents deserve to know why potholes are not being addressed by the city in a timely manner, and especially along W. National Ave.,” Alderman Bauman said. “The committee will be seeking answers to key questions surrounding the city’s response to potholes.”
Additionally, the committee will receive an update from DPW staff on the progress of street lighting circuitry replacement work funded by the American Rescue Plan Act.
The Public Works Committee meeting (Wednesday, April 26 at 9 a.m. in room 301-B at City Hall), will be televised live on the City Channel (Channel 25 on Spectrum Cable and on AT&T U-Verse Channel 99) in the City of Milwaukee. It can also be viewed via streaming video on the City website at milwaukee.gov/Channel25.
