Popular vocalist plans a “Water Songs” concert – in the pool!
Local music legend Robin Pluer will perform a benefit concert unlike any other next month – from in a swimming pool!
Her hour-long Water Songs concert will take place at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 4, in the Aquatic Center at St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care, 2801 E. Morgan Ave.
A popular vocalist noted for her work in local bands as well as her soulful solo turns at Bastille Days reprising the works of Edith Piaf, Pluer proposed this unusual concert to benefit the unusual day center, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
“St. Ann Center is my happy place,” said Pluer, who’s used the warm-water pool for exercise and has sung in the atrium for the nonprofit center’s adult clients and childcare classes.
Just 60 tickets for this one-of-a-kind show will be sold. Concert-goers, like Pluer’s accompanying musicians, will stay dry on the pool deck. Free parking is available on-site.
Advance tickets are $15 each, and may be purchased from now until June 3 at StAnnCenter.org/concert.
They will also be available to purchase in person at the center’s front desk during its normal business hours (7 AM-5 PM, Monday through Friday) or by calling (414) 977-5000. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door for $20 (cash; no change available).
