Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs is pleased to announce the release of the 2023 Bronzeville Week schedule of events as the city and community prepare to come together for the annual celebration of the history of Bronzeville and Milwaukee’s rich African-American culture, history, commerce, and art. The 12th Annual Bronzeville Week is set to take place August 5-12 and will include a variety of new and familiar events.
“Bronzeville Week brings together residents, artists, businesses and community stakeholders for a positive celebration of art, culture, commerce in the history-laden Bronzeville District,” Alderwoman Coggs said. “We have a tremendous lineup of events planned and I am looking forward to welcoming the new and the veteran attendees, alike, this year.”
An official City of Milwaukee event now in its 12th full year, Bronzeville Week’s presenting sponsors include Alderwoman Coggs, the City of Milwaukee, Historic King Drive BID #8, American Family Insurance and Bader Philanthropies. Alderwoman Coggs notes that Bronzeville Week is also supported by many, many community partners.
Bronzeville Week kicks off with the HaRUNbee 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, August 5 at 8:00 a.m. Those interested in participating in the event as a runner, walker, or volunteer can lean more and register here.
