Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II said the Center Street Marketplace Business Improvement District (BID) #39 will hold Shop Center Street – The New Black Wall Street on Saturday, August 27 between N. 34th and N. 35th and W. Center St. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
As part of family-friendly Shop Center Street – The New Black Wall Street on Saturday, August 27, the Vendor & Food Truck Park will be held at 35th and Center and the Pocket Park-Kid’s Zone will take place at 34th and Center, Alderman Stamper said.
“The Center Street Marketplace BID has been working hard to make this Saturday’s event truly great and fun for the entire family, and I strongly encourage community members to stop down and see what’s going on,” Alderman Stamper said.
There are more than 100 businesses on W. Center St. between N. 29th and N. 60th Streets, making the Center St. corridor home to the highest concentration of working families and purchasing power per square mile in Milwaukee, BID #39 officials said. The commercial corridor is home to a wide variety of businesses including, restaurants, corner stores, event spaces, barbershops, appliance stores, childcare services, and more.
