Some may say Chivalry is dead, however I choose an optimistic way of looking at things. My take on this is that you can create the life that you want. With this being Prom and Wedding season, I thought about romance, which is a feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love. The definition itself made me smile, how amazing this stage in a relationship can be.
No matter how old you are, no matter your race or economic status you deserve to be and can be romanced and in love. What does romance look like? Thanks for asking (lol), it looks like walks in the park, these are not only free, but you can have this moment to build your bond, talk about how you two met, plan a future date, or just hold hands and be silent.
A Picnic in the park is timeless, it does not take a lot of work, nor does it have to be expensive. Visit your local sub shop and purchase 2 boxed lunches that come with chips and a cookie, then go to the store, and pick up a tablecloth, 2 drinks and some flowers or any item to make the table look nice. Feeling Buji? Try a fancy restaurant, order a charcuterie board, and serve your drinks in fancy glasses, top the table with a linen tablecloth, linen napkins, and a bouquet of flowers.
Leave them a handwritten note or letter, do not text it or inbox it, make it personal so write something from the heart or just a quick note like, “have a wonderful day,” “I miss you” or “stay sweet.” Stick it on the mail, leave it on the fridge or leave it in their car.
Date night, not a regular smegular date night, but dress up! At least twice a month pick a special restaurant, one that neither of you have eaten before, make sure you look your best, laugh a lot, and dance the night away.
Romance is the key to a healthy happy relationship, so you should be intentional and schedule it. Your significant other is so worth it and the memories you create will be priceless.
