Girls on the Run of Southeastern Wisconsin will host its 5K event (virtually) on Saturday, November 7, 9 AM at your time and your place.
Social media build up will begin the week of the event. Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based, positive youth development program that uses fun running games and dynamic discussions to teach life skills to girls in 3rd to 8th grade. During the eight-week program, girls participate in lessons that foster confidence, build peer connections and encourage community service while they prepare for an end-of-season celebratory 5K event.
Participation in the 5K event on Saturday, November 7 is open to the public and all proceeds from the event will benefit Girls on the Run of Southeastern Wisconsin. We encourage families, friends and even furry friends to join in the virtual event however works for you. In normal times, the GOTR 5K is held at Miller Park and brings thousands of families, friends and GOTR supporters including program participants to the celebratory event. This year’s event will bring the same energy and motivation, but with help from the virtual world, with social media fun, prizes and great GOTR swag including a newly designed, GOTR multifunctional GOTR buff that was super popular last year. Standard registration cost is $15/person and includes a digital/printable race bib, 5K training plan, digital swag and instructions for sharing your 5K experience on social media. Superstar registration cost is $30/person (families up to 6 only pay $100) and includes everything from the standard registration plus an official 5K race bib, multifunctional GOTR buff and other surprise GOTR swag.
A drive by packet pickup will be Friday, November 6 from 4-7 PM at GOTR offices, 5775 N. Glen Park Rd., Glendale, WI 53219. There will be mail delivery option as well.
