Over the weekend, a 3-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was struck by gunfire Saturday. It seemed to be an accidental shooting, according to MPD.
Police responded to the shooting about 7:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of North 52nd Street, according to a news release.
This was the second 3-year-old boy to suffer from gunshot wounds in a matter of two days, right here in Milwaukee. On Friday, police say Akai W. Stilo unintentionally shot himself and died from his injuries.
It has yet to be confirmed of who shot the second child on Saturday. Police said the shooting seemed to be accidental, but that the investigation was still active.

We cry out for our city to do better time and time again. We ask that we, collectively, do more and do better for our community. The youth continue to die young. They get into many things at a young age.
However, these two incidents could have been prevented if the owners of the guns were more mindful of the environment they were in. My heart tears to pieces to hear that a 3 year old has been shot let along two. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? Why are firearm owners more careful? What’s going on?
Do we not have access to gun locks? Is it not important to put it in a safe spot? HOW DOES A 3 YEAR OLD GET ACCESS TO A FIREARM?
Why is safety not a priority here and what can we do to change it? I will continue to tell the stories that we must take more serious. I would love to hear the solutions of our city? Are we going to make the change that needs to happen? It is time!
