As we know Congress is currently in recess, and have been since August 7th leaving many Americans with questions. “Are we getting a stimulus check?” “What is taking so long?” Are just a few questions going through the head of a local mother I talked to. Here is the latest; on Thursday Speaker Of The House Nancy Pelosi, and White House Chief Of Staff Mark Meadows Spoke about the status of the bill. The conversation that lasted a whooping 25 minutes, ended in a impasse. The republicans want a 1 trillion dollar bill, while the Democrats have come down nearly a trillion dollars on a new 2.2 trillion dollar bill. There have been talks about approving the portions of the bill the parties agree on, stimulus checks, extended unemployment among other legislation. The stalemate is likely to last until September 8th when the recess ends. Stay tuned for more information and have a safe week.
