Many thought the deal was done and stimulus checks would soon be sent out, but the announcement of the direct payments was just that an announcement. Prior to that confirmation, there was no clear cut proof there would be another one. So what is the hold up? With emergency aid running out, the pressure is mounting for a new deal.
Extra Unemployment aid had its last week on the 25th, leaving many Americans much shorter on cash this week when they filed their claims. A one week extension was on the table to hold Americans over in the mean time, but as members of Congress sift through hundred of pages of legislation, that deal was never reached. However, both sides have met long hours over the Weekend to come to an agreement that addresses all issues, although no deal was reached reports show that they are close on the items holding it up. A deal is expected this week, that will extend extra unemployment benefits, give a timeline for stimulus checks and more so stay safe and stay tuned.
