According to CBS58, on Saturday, an 8-year-old Milwaukee boy drowned in West Bend. According to authorities, around 5 p.m. a family member of the boy alerted a lifeguard that they could not locate the boy.
Soon after a lost child address was issued over the public address system and a search of the park’s pond began. The 8 year old was later found unresponsive in the water and taken to the shore by park-goers.
The Lifeguards performed CPR and rushed the boy to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Officials say the incident remains under investigation.
As sad as this is, our question must be how to protect the youth this summer. How can we lower the death rates of our young people? What are we doing wrong?
