Motivated Mondays: Be Thankful

November 14, 2022 By MKE Community Journal Leave a Comment

Happy happy Monday! Good vibes for the tribes. Whatever your tribe is, be thankful. Too often we  are so focused on what’s not happening in our lives that we over look what is. We think and overthink ourselves into a dark, ungrateful mind space.

It’s like we wake up one day and realize things are taking too long to manifest or we begin to feel like we put in so much work and it’s just not paying off. Truth be told we become anxious and impatient.

At some point we feel the work we’ve done is in vain, but it’s not. It gets rough. It gets tough. It becomes trying. But nothing with a purpose is for no reason. I believe sometimes we just need a chill pill. Sometimes we just need to woosah and relax for a minute.

Is that you? Have you been feeling overwhelmed and hopeless? Have you been feeling down and unmotivated? Are you getting impatient?

You probably need to take a second to count your blessings. Here’s a few ways to shift an anxious mindset.

Every day, say aloud three good things that happened.

This forces your mind to enter a good space, tallying up the positives. It’s good for focus and a positive mood shift.

Keep a gratitude journal.

Throughout the day brainstorm things that you’re grateful for. Big or small, that doesn’t matter.

Say thanks to your partner.

Manners are important, of course, but finding reasons to show your gratitude is everything. It feels good to appreciate others. Say thanks. It makes everyone feel good.

Thank yourself.

Hey hey. You can’t leave you out. You have to thank yourself as well. You have to appreciate you. After all, you’re the MVP here.

Use technology to send three gratitude messages a week.

Be intentional about your gratitude. Thank some people you haven’t acknowledged in a while. It could be for being there for you or having your back. Whatever it is show your appreciation.

Savor the good moments.

Live in the moment with care. Cherish the times. It’s a blessing to BE at this time. So many people leaving this earth prematurely. So many deaths. Love the life you live and the ones you live it with.

Always be thankful because no matter how hard things may seem, IT COULD ALWAYS BE WORSE.
