This year has undoubtedly brought pain to many in the forms of personal loss, grieving for loved ones, financial woes and more. Combine that with past hurt, and trauma your still healing from now your an emotional time bomb.
Having experienced her fair share of hurt, Cherisse Cannon developed the Healing Project, first as a book and then an entire conference.
“I started writing the book and having small meetings with girls in my apartment.” As Cannon explained this to me, she had no ideal it would turn into a conference with over 100 attendees.
Saturday was the first of what I expect to be many events the set up, itinerary, and overall event made for a healing inducing environment.
“Every broken piece in me had to be found and put back together by God.”
Cannon who is a recent graduate of Midwest Bible College, started the night off explaining her healing journey. With her Associates in Theology she is rooted in faith as she explained her journey, and finding comfort in it. Tears flowed as inspirational as it was, it would proved to be just the first of a power packed night. There would be a fashion and confidence segment, dealing with depression, and talks of entrepreneurship to name a few . Each segment was designed to give tools for healing, and the transparency of the speakers made it easy for many to open up.
“When I tell you the speakers spoke life into places I thought were dead, I mean that. “
This was just one of many testimonies from the conference, to fit them all I would need multiple articles .
I was impressed with the fluency of the event, expertise of the speakers, and overall vision that Cannon carried out. As the owner of Healing project properties, a publishing company and the fact that the Healing Project is a 501c1 how did she have time? Well the mother of two (Nyla and Eric), found a way to transform her hurt, into healing a process well received and adapted by her guests. Thank you for your strength to help others heal through your hurt. For more information on upcoming events , visit her at her personal brand page Justccannon.com
