Bronzeville Week is coming to a close, but before the festivities conclude, Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs invites residents to come out one last time and partake in the “Bronzeville Art-Walk.” The art-walk will take place tomorrow, Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive between North Ave. and Garfield Ave.
Admission to the art-walk is free and all ages are welcome to participate. William Muhammad will curate the event which will feature a plethora of talented artists including Della Wells, Mutope J. Johnson, Fatima Laster, Vedale, Joshua Wilborn, William Nolen, Latoya Hickmon, Muneer Bahauddeen, One Loc Enigma-Bey, Symphony Swan, Terrill Shorter, Richard Allen and William Muhammad.
Saturday will also include events for any early risers who want to take in some culture with their morning cup of coffee. “Bronzeville Ride” a morning group bike ride around the Bronzeville neighborhood will take place at 8:00 a.m. at Reader’s Choice located at 1920 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. The bike ride will be followed by “Pancakes and Poetry” at 2200 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
“Here we are again, at the culmination of another fantastic Bronzeville Week,” said Alderwoman Coggs. “I’m very excited by the way the community has rallied around this event, and let us keep the momentum going this Saturday and end Bronzeville Week in style.”
