“Stimulus,”– a thing that rouses activity or energy in someone or something; a spur or incentive.
The world is currently awaiting with “high” energy, for a “thing” that will rouse economic activity.
In the midst of the virus, this is the only word more popular amongst Americans. The President and other lawmakers have proposed a stimulus package to be distributed to most Americans, as a way to combat the declining economic situation. Amounts as high as $2000 have been rumored for individuals, and $4,500 for families. The requirements currently discussed are individuals with income that does not exceed $75,000 a year, may qualify for a $1,200 check, and families with no more than $150,000 a year up to $4,500, depending on how many children they have. Other qualifications are centered around tax liability (income to withholdings) on an individual, with a person making less then $2,500 receiving none. Discussions have taken place over the weekend to get the deal done, but came to a Halt after a Senator contracted the virus. Other obstacles came from the Democratic side, who did not vote on the Last meeting. 60 votes are needed and only 47 were counted, as not a single democrat voted. They are concerned with the worker protection portions of the bill, as well as corporate bailouts. A new vote is scheduled at 12pm Eastern time today, the amount is still unclear, but in the words of the President Trump, they will be “much more than a thousand dollars.”
