LOS ANGELES – The leadership of Los Angeles-based BlackMenVoting.com, a political action committee with a mission to get Black men to the polls to vote for the Biden/Harris ticket announced victory today.
“We succeeded in doing our part to get Black men to the polls to vote for Biden/Harris,” said Atty. Dermot Givens, co-founder of BlackMenVoting. “We are now working to prevent others from wrongfully claiming the polls show that Black men voted for Trump in record numbers, even while there is an agreement that the polls for everything else were wrong.”
The eyes of America are still laser-focused on Georgia. In January, there will be a special runoff election due to neither of Georgia’s Republican senators securing a majority on Election Day. Results will likely determine control of the Senate. If the votes swing in the Democrats favor, it would hand president-elect Joseph R. Biden the ability to carry out his policy agenda and push through his nominations If Republicans prevail, they could influence his plans.
Democrat Rev. Dr. Raphael Warnock is entering a runoff for the Senate seat held by Kelly Loeffler, while Jon Ossoff, also a Democrat, is vying for a seat held by Senator David Perdue, who is facing a normal re-election race for the seat he won in 2014.
“We are looking forward to helping Democrats retake the Senate by supporting Rev. Dr. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff in the Georgia special election on January 5, 2021,” said Givens.
Last September BlackMenVoting.com announced a national strategic campaign to urge Black men to participate in the electoral process at all levels and to encourage them to vote for the Biden-Harris 2020 Democratic ticket.
BlackMenVoting, launched in 2020 by Atty. Dermot Givens, James Smith, Rev. Jewett L. Walker, and Joey Hill is a network of Black men who support the Biden-Harris ticket. The organization’s mission was and is to increase the percentage of Black male voters nationwide.
BlackMenVoting is a Federal Election Commission SuperPAC (FEC#C00758409) that is not controlled or coordinated with any candidate.
