MILWAUKEE, Wisc., (May 1, 2020) – AAA – The Auto Club Group is teaming up with Sanford Restaurant and Grube’s Towing to fuel front-line healthcare workers in Milwaukee.
This week, AAA purchased 100 meals from Sanford, one of the city’s AAA Four Diamond Restaurants, and had them delivered to the staff at Aurora Sinai Medical Center by Grube’s, a local AAA preferred service provider. AAA and Grube’s will deliver another 100 meals from Sanford to staff at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital next week (Thursday, May 7th).
“AAA is extremely grateful for the hospital staff who are leading the fight against COVID-19,” said Nick Jarmusz, Midwest director of public affairs, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “They are. working long hours and likely running on fumes, and we just want to help recharge their batteries. At the same time, we have the chance to support some local businesses.”
To date, AAA – The Auto Club Group has donated and delivered over 4,000 meals from locally-owned restaurants across our 13 state territory.
During the COVID-19 crisis, AAA – The Auto Club Group is focused on providing relief for our AAA members, customers and communities we serve. In addition to delivering meals to healthcare workers, we are providing a variety of resources and services to help our AAA members and customers.
- Providing $60 million in premium refunds to auto insurance customers. Every policyholder with auto insurance in effect as of April 30, 2020 is receiving a 20% policy refund applied to two months of premium, for April and May.
- Utilizing our roadside assistance vehicles and drivers to deliver meals and medical supplies to hospitals and first responders throughout our footprint.
- Donating technology supplies to schools so teachers and children can work and learn from home. We also donated Samsung tablets to a hospital so their isolated patients can connect with loved ones.
- Partnering with the American Red Cross to hold a week-long blood and financial donation drive to support their relief efforts.
“AAA’s mission has always been to serve our members and our communities, and we are proud to support those who have been so drastically affected during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Jarmusz.
